Thoughts:
The choice of a sans serif font conveys both a modern and a solid look. The shape of the logo makes it easy to add to any given product, and the bulkiness of it makes it ideal to ingrave on the backside of a wrist watch. The font is custom made, and removing parts of the letters creates a playful and interesting, almost abstract look, yet still legible. The logo is type-based to fit as many uses as possible, whereas an iconic logo using imagery like clock-arms for an example, wouldn't match a digital watch as well.
